Big Bands 1940's - 1950's
During the turbulent war years between the early 1940's and late 1950's, our brave men and women in uniform often tuned the dial to the Armed Forces Radio for a small moment of normalcy and that sweet memory of dancing to the sounds of the greatest bands of the land back home. The Armed Forces Radio provided encouragement, support and served as a compelling reminder to all who listened why our freedom is worth the heroic sacrifices of the men and women in the Armed Forces.
